Weekly Secret Weapon: Too Short? Add a Layer.

Want to know the perfect solution to a short dress or skirt, or perhaps something that got accidentally shrunk? Add a layer underneath. This dress, though I love, is a tad too short for work, even a little for going out on the town. So instead of giving it away, I decided I'd make it work again.

I absolutely love this little lace-lined slip and think it's the perfect addition to a hemline in a short situation.

Don't have a slip with a trim? Make one! You can simply buy a slip at retail and then sew on either lace or even a fun, printed ribbon. Definitely gives the outfit character, whether you are going for vintage inspired, or something truly quirky.

So don't be afraid when you make a laundry boo-boo or find yourself a hemline too short, simply add a layer underneath and your problem is turned fabulous.

That's a great idea! I do then to give clothes away when they get too short!
