Hit List: Tea Party

I was inspired browsing the Internet today by none other than my old American Girl doll, Samantha Parkington. She was seriously the perfect doll for me, vintage, loves pink and flowers, and grew up in the coolest era, the 20's. Once I settled on this, I found so many beautiful pieces out there that were simply perfect. My favorites include the apron from Anthropologie and the dress and shoes from Modcloth. Hope you all like tea, cause your invited to my party this week!

Daily Fashion Show: Blue Flu

Lately, I've had the blues, fashion blues that is. And what better way to come back to you all by bringing them out in my accessories? I wore this to a friend's wedding a few weeks ago and absolutely loved all the floral details and vintage touches.

Saw this dress and Anthropologie and just died. I had to buy it, a definite Tiffany dress, don't you think? The 3D flowers killed me and I knew I had to find some even killer shoes for this.

The bright blue of these shoes totally caught my eye. They are a great summer shoe, a wedge, with a raffia sole and fun, satin strands that look like a flower. Last but not least, the bag. I had to have a bright bag to match and I loved this envelope clutch.

To top it all off, a necklace combo created by yours truly. I just love mixing a vintage necklace with a brooch. Gives the item a face-lift, huh?! So I may have been a little MIA and had the blues, but I least I turned them into something fabulous!

Weekly Secret Weapon: Spray it Up

Ok, so maybe it's not a secret, but I'm giving you all a great tip this week. When you are going on vacation, expecially a place that is requiring of bikinis and short dresses, I highly recommend that you get a spray tan.

As many of you know, or if you don't know, you can tell by simply looking a picture of me, I am extremely fair skinned. I'm not into tanning and definitely not into risking my health for a glow. But when it got closer and closer to my trip to Vegas, I decided that I wanted to look hot and be tan.

I had gotten a spray tan before, however, the ones I got were in those rooms that you have to hold your breath in for what seems like forever. I had asked around the office and found a salon by me that did airbrush spray tanning. I was scared, but intrigued, so I decided to check it out.

I made my appointment and 40 mins. later, I was golden and beautiful, without having to do any damage to my skin. The next day, when I was able to shower, I revealed a fun and sexy glow. I didn't realize that being tan would make me feel more confident and beautiful, but it totally did. And if I have 1 piece of advice for all of you that have just as white of skin as me, get an airbrush spray tan before you vacation, you'll be glad you did!

Bonus-I was able to wear white shorts, something I would've never been able to do before. Wee!

Daily Fashion Show: Free as a Bird

So I must really like birds this week, maybe because it's Spring, or maybe because it's elegant. Not sure why, but I am seriously loving all of the bird printed things I've been seeing lately.

I saw this top at Anthropologie and just melted. The one thing I've learned about that store is if you see something that you like, you have to buy it. Otherwise, it will be gone and won't go on clearance. I'm telling the truth here!

Look how great this top is up close. I loved the print, but what sold me was the beading on a few of the birds. How seriously sweet is that?

Now, it may be Spring, but I seriously can't wait until Summer carries me away. Maybe one of these birds will!

Hit List: Peachy Keen

While we're all sitting here waiting for the summer to come, or hey, spring for that matter, I couldn't help but notice the presence of orange this week. A few months ago, I mentioned corals, but this time around, I found these amazing, soft peach tones. Some I found were in really unique items such as the adorable shower cap and apron, while others were in unexpected things such as the trench and a faux suede pump. The influx of peach in these two pieces give us a new neutral to play with. If only it we were warm enough to eat peaches....for now, I'll settle with my yogurt and gushing for these beautiful pieces.

1. Peach Polka Dot Dress- Dorothy Perkins £32
2. Peach Trench- Topshop $180
3. Peach Oxford- Modcloth $104.99
4. Peach Suede Pump- Debenhams £80
5. Shower Cap- Ruche $23.99
6. Cupcake Apron- Anthropologie $32

Daily Fashion Show: Bring in the Spring

True to my girly roots, I decided to bust out some bright pink socks today and pair it up with pink colored jewelry to bring in the spring.

I absolutely love the floral print of this dress. It's so fresh and springy and looks great with my pink socks.

The pink jewelry really helped tie everything together. I paired my super chunky "rock candy" necklace and a fabric flower ring. Candy and flowers, perfect for a girly girl!

Hope you all had a wonderful start to the week and get to enjoy the warmer weather!

Weekly Secret Weapon: How to Wear Cropped Pants

To celebrate the warmth we've been getting in Chicago, I decided to kick it off this week by wearing some cropped pants. I love them, but always have a hard time finding things to wear with them. Solution? Ankle socks!

The addition of ankle socks really helped with this ensemble. I think I've always been freaked out about the pants. They are very cute and flattering, but something always holds me back. I think I just got the confidence I needed though with the socks. They somehow made me feel as though I wasn't wearing crops, plus, they were super cute and added great texture.

Anklets also look great with a dress and open toed shoes. Perfect for weather that isn't dependable. Give it a try!

Daily Fashion Show: Rocker Chic

I seriously rocked this Monday. It was rough but I made it through. And honestly, I don't think I could have done it without my leather jacket and bright red lips!

I've never really been into lipstick, but when I got a giftcard from MAC and saw the amazing Wonder Woman collection, I just had to give in and give it a try.

My shoes seriously made the ensemble. These really do rock. They are stilettos and wedges, with a shiny spike heel. Plus, they are black and bronze so they are extremely versatile.

Hope you all had a rockin' Monday (and love my new curtains!).

Daily Fashion Show: Babydoll

So my man told me I looked like a doll today. I think he meant the toy, not in a terms of endearment way, but nevertheless, I sported around in my bobby socks and mary jane's like I was back in elementary school.

I thought the combo was fun today, lots of florals and texture, especially the contrast between my super fuzzy sweater and my smooth and shiny silk dress.

Close up of the bobby socks. Now all I really need is a pair of saddle shoes and I really am back in elementary school. But what's wrong with that? I was an ultra-girly girl then, and still am!

Last but not least, I paired my skinny stretch belt with a golden rose closure with the ensemble today for one last touch. Overall, I do say that I looked like doll...you know what I mean!

Weekly Secret Weapon: Sock Heights

So maybe I'm being a little optimistic here about the weather, but hey, it's getting warm (well, on some days) so that means it's time to start wearing different sock heights. All through winter you wear your knee-highs and over-the-knees, both to stay warm and to accessorize your dresses and skirts on days that your tights just aren't cutting it. But now, it's time to start exploring the world of ankle socks!

I found these adorable ones on a mini shopping spree. I just love the little hedgehog print. It's so spring-y and FUN! Plus, the colors go perfectly with my ensemble and add a little but of quirk to it.

Oh, and I wanted to show off my new sweater the boy got for me for my birthday. Oh, he knows me so well. Give me flowers and Anthro any day! It's super fuzzy and helps give this outfit texture.

So wherever you are, no matter what weather's going on, I highly suggests you start wearing some ankle socks. It's a great way to shake things up, and help add a little color or character around your ankles.
