Step 1: Use an eye primer. It smooths out the skin on your eyelid and keeps even the cheapest of eye makeup on your lid. I use Ulta brand's primer and it does just fine.
Step 2: Line the bottom and top of lid on the inside. This makes your eyes really pop.
Step 3: Choose your look. I'll show you two of my favorites, the half and half, and the all-over crease. Both are dramatic and full of color.
For the half and half look, choose a darker color and sweep on outer half of eyelid. I tend to make a little cat eye curve upward for drama.

Then, use a lighter color of the same shade on the other half of the lid and blend. I also sweep a little in the corner of my eye for some shine.
For the all-over crease look, choose a bright color and apply all over the lid. Again, I usually do a cat eye sweep in the corner.
