Hello friends and fashionistas, you ready for another Secret Weapon? This week's is all about bows! You know I love them, even on my head. But what if you don't have a headwrap/band or ribbon? Reuse something, of course!
Here, I used an old men's tie I got at a thrift store years ago and tied it on my head. Fun eh? It's a little large but even more funky. How fun?!
It was even more fun to pair with my striped top and bow detailed cardigan. What a perfect combo?!
And check out the gift Santa (aka, my lovely boyfriend) brought me! It's the bracelet on the right, not the Tiffany's. Pretty sweet eh? Anyway, go girly this week with your extra-large bow TIE!

Hit List: Black Tie Affair
This week's Hit List is just in time for New Years, or that special black tie event you've been so lucky to be invited to. I was inspired by not only the classic black and white palette, but also the iconic bows in all their glory. My favorite's here include the Betsey Johnson necklace, the shoes, and the polka dot dress from Modcloth. I also love the white gloves, sorry they are sold out, too cute not to mention! Just makes me want to dress up and dance all night long!

Daily Fashion Show: Panda Snowflakes
Hello all! Sorry for my absence....issues with the internet again. It seriously happens every time we move, so annoying! But, I'm up and running again and giving you guys a fashion show today, winter style.
Seriously fell in love with this panda set. It's so cute and every time I wear it out, people tend to smile, which is exactly how I feel wearing it!!
I think the mitten's are my favorite. They are convertible so you can text, and when they fold over, you see the cute little panda face and pom pom ears. Again, just makes me smile, and warm!!

Daily Fashion Show: Red Thrills
Today's Fashion Show is brought to by red thrills. That's right. Plastic flowers, flower prints, red tights, and even a red bra (hehe!).
Wanted to mix it up with my legwear today and wore bright ass tights with sweet little lace socks. What a combo?! The red was also a really great contrast with my black dress and helped sass it up a bit.
Other fun, red accessories include an Asian flower print tie and an amazing plastic flower necklace. I tend to call it my Japan necklace. It's just so fun and quirky! All this red really helped brighten it up around here. Ok, that sounds TOTALLY depressing, but I meant because of the weather. It's seriously freezing around here. WTF? Stay warm you fashionistas!

Weekly Secret Weapon: Soften Up Your Edge
My most favorite part of fashion is the juxtaposition of two completely different looks meshed together to make something truly unique. In this week's Secret Weapon, I chose to honor this my showing how you can soften up your edge (or toughen up your girly).
Here, I chose to use contrasting leathers in my work boots and belt and paired them with an ultra-sparkly top and headwrap. It's a fun look both for work on casual days, as well as a night out!
This can also be done with rhinestone jewelry, an evening bag with heavy boots, or anything sequined, really.
And why not make it a little sexy by showing off your bra straps? I also tucked in the top only in the front to give a little more flirt to this ensemble. So go grab something sparkly and something tough and see what you can come up with!

Daily Fashion Show: Doubled Up
As you all know from my last posting, it is seriously cold out here in Chicago. So, because of this, I have doubled up today on my legwear, which is both warm and super cute!
My initial intentions were to wear just the OTK socks, but due to the cold, I had to layer on the leggings and I think it really made the outfit. I really have admired the J Crew, Anthro, and Free People catalogs this month that all do this trend, but instead of drabby/fall colors, I popped mine with hot pink.
I also doubled on rings today with a big chunky opal and another chunky yellow topaz ring. Super fun and thought they went very well with my chunky bauble necklace from my Grandmother. Also, it was a great way to get in more colors from my teacup dress. Remember when I first fell in love with this? Also paired my grandpa sweater with amazing elbow pads with my tea dress...both seemed appropriate for each other.
Dress: Anthropologie
Cardigan: Abercrombie & Fitch
Leggings: The Gap
OTK Socks: For Love 21
Boots: Claire's
Opal Ring: Claire's
Yellow Topaz Ring: Vintage
Teal Bauble Necklace: Vintage
Hook and Loop Necklace: Marie Marie Jewelry

Hit List: Dear Santa
To kick of Dec 1st, I thought I'd put together some cute Christmas-themed product I've seen. Every item is a little bit quirky and not your typical Christmas item. Some have Santa in a whole new way (the Neiman Marcus PJs are freaking adorable) while others are items that I interpreted as Christmas-y. The letter wallet is so cute and red ruffle top looks exactly like something Mrs. Clause would wear. Hope this starts off your holiday cheer as it has mine. Time to start shopping!
1. Mrs. Clause Ruffle Top- Modcloth $49.99
2. Hippie Santa PJs- Neiman Marcus $90
3. Santa Slippers- Urban Outfitters $24
4. Cupcake Socks- Dorothy Perkins 6.30
5. Letter to Santa Wallet- Modcloth $37.99
6. Holiday Greetings Bath Set- Sephora $22

Daily Fashion Show: Layer it Up
Lots of layers today since it decided to slightly flurry and freeze the F up today in Chicago. Ugh, felt my first bone chill today....but I decided to bear the cold by layering it up!
Threw on some rocker blue eye shadow and lots of necklaces and a fun, fring-y scarf. It gave lots of texture and blended great with my necklaces.
The blue was my pop color with all the browns, definitely brightened up this frigged day!
