Showered with Flowers

Decided to come back from my 9 day hiatus and greet you with flowers!

Dress: Khols
Top: The Gap
Shoes: Blowfish
Jewelry: Vintage

Transformed this beautiful flower brooch into a hair pin with the help of a few bobbypins.
Love the detail on the collar of this shirt, definitely the reason I bought it. The shapes are so organic and against the linen background, it gives it an even more natural feel to it.

Even the drawstrings have flower details.

Nerd Alert!

Saw Harry Potter 6 over the weekend and what better way to commemorate the event by strutting around in my HP Hoodie from Hot Topic!

Here, it is paired with my Lark and Wolff tank from Urban and Express Jeans, Marc by Marc Jacobs necklace, and vintage capricorn necklace.

Vintage Dress

My amazing red vintage dress I got from The Clothing Warehouse was so fun to wear to work the other day. I paired it with some of my mother's old disc earrings from the 70's and my USA necklace from Francesca's. The only thing that was a slight snag in my ensemble that was to find after already being at work for over 3 hours, that the dress was slightly see-through and you could see my Victoria's Secret Pink "1986" across my butt in bright white lettering. Perhaps it isn't a good idea to get dressed in the dark, even if you are trying to be courteous to your slumbering significant other :) Luckily I was able to save myself from more embarrassment by snagging some leggings I cut into biker shorts for the latter half of my day.

New Toy

I am very fortunate to have inherited all of my Grandmother's jewelry and with my ever-growing love for accessories, finding a place to store all of these treasures has become quite troublesome. While at a party a few weeks ago at a friend's house, I came upon this amazing jewelry cabinet from QVC that I knew I had to have. I'm not really one to buy things off of infomercials but this cabinet was just truly perfect in fulfilling all my [lack of storage] needs. I ordered it a few weeks ago and hung it up this weekend (with the help of my boyfriend and brother-in-law). Here are a few pictures that displays the breadth of my jewelry assortment it all it's glory!

My Morning Craft

I'm varied when it comes to my morning schedule and getting ready for work. Some days, I make sure I get everything settled before I go to bed (set the coffee maker, make my lunch, pick out my outfit, and sometimes even take a shower) but it's never all 4, usually a combination. But sometimes, I try to cram all 4 in my mornings, doing no preparation the night before. In cases like this, such as today, I have to be really quick when it comes to selecting an outfit and accessorizing it. Occasionally I really hit it, while other times, my outfits tend to lack that "funky edge" I so aptly claim myself to have. This morning, while shampooing my hair, I had no inspiration and feared for crunch time when I would have to pick SOMETHING! I first pulled out my leopard print shirt from H&M. I then immediately began to think of what I could accessorize it with. I had found these earrings of my sister's that I had been trying to incorporate into an outfit and decided that brown and orange were it! With no other orange accessories in my immediate hands, I braided a couple of my Grandmother's scarves and couldn't believe the texture I had created on a whim. Sometimes, all it takes is a color or a print, and sometimes you can really hit it when you have 5 mins. Hope you enjoy!

Tunic Wednesday

Today, since most people are out of the office, I went a bit casual and chose a tunic from Forever 21 with patterned leggings from The Gap. The metallic belt is from forever ago, back in my Discovery days, and the jewelry is a vintage gold necklace (my Grandmother's of course) and my sister's marble necklace from Anthropologie.

My sister and I always joke about "posing" for these photos. This is my Marc Jacobs ad.
