The Clothing Warehouse
I spent this past weekend in Savannah, Georgia for a wedding and naturally did some shopping. I went into Marc Jacobs, Birkenstock, and a bunch of local boutiques. My favorite stop was a vintage clothing store called The Clothing Warehouse. When I walked in, I was greeted by two trendy and extremely friendly sales girls, racks and displays of vintage dresses and accessories, and the tunes of the Beastie Boys. The store was very edgy, merchandising clothes against the exposed brick backdrop. I started browsing the store and before I knew it, I had found numerous items I loved! The patterns were so fun and original, nothing like you could get in stores now. It was a great shopping experience because the sales girls were so enthusiastic, sneaking items into my dressing room just for fun. There was even an employee pick section that offered the coolest items in the store, hand-picked by the sales girls themselves. After trying on all of the treasures I had found, I felt compelled to take pictures of their store and ask numerous questions. To my surprise, The Clothing Warehouse is a franchise, operating primarily in the Southwest, with stores in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas and New York. They get their clothing mostly from donations as well as shopping estate sales. They offer men and women's clothing, with a decent-sized accessory section.
I can only hope that I will visit another Clothing Warehouse to fall in love, yet again.
