Weekly Secret Weapon: Mixing Prints

True to form, this week's secret weapon is about mixing it up....patterns that is! I've always been a fan of this and now I'm here to show you how.

First, pick the piece you want to match. Start with either a skirt or a shirt that has a pattern with a bunch of colors. I chose the Monet-esque skirt as my starting off point.

Next, pick out an accent color in this piece. I chose the hints of lime and yellow to bring out.

Then, find another piece that contains those same colors. They can be in slightly different shades to give a little more depth.

Last, try to break up the prints with something neutral-colored. I chose a thick, black belt. You could also use a scarf or even a jacket or cardigan on top.

Oh, and don't forget to accessorize! This can also be done in the same theory with bringing out an accent color. The strands of lime green and white pearls were perfect for this.

Now don't be shy, break out some of you printed skirt and shirts and try to mix it up! Here is another one I did back in the archives.

Weekly Secret Weapon: Pants at Work

Since most of pants no longer fit/I don't really like them anymore, I decided I'd re-work my pants and make them new again. How fun?!

First, I chose a pair that was a bit big and slouchy, perfect for my re-work.

Then, I rolled the around the waist to ensure they stay up, plus it was a cute way to show off my tattoo on my stomach :)

Next, I rolled up the cuff and gathered at the back of the leg, to make more of a straight leg.

Once it was pinned, I rolled up the cuff a couple of times and voila, new pants!

I was going for that carefree J Crew look, and I think I did justice. Have fun re-working some of your pants to even further expand your fabulous wardrobe.

Daily Fashion Show: Disney Goodies

Every time we go to Disney, I search high and low for new and fun souvenirs. Sometimes I'm lucky, and others not so much. But this time, I really lucked out and found some good loot! I found the cutest hoodie and limited edition Dooney and Bourke bag :)

I love this bag. Perfect for a day at the park because it's cross body, but also because it is vintage themed Disney print.

I bought this bag at this store in Downtown Disney called "The Vault." They carried the Disney Couture line of clothing as well as jewelry and accessories that were more high end. I just had to get the bag when I saw it!

I loved the appliques on this hoodie. They were cool and totally me. Peace, love, and Mickey!

So thank you Disney, you totally rocked my world this time around, and my bank account!

Fashion Target: Still MIA

Sorry guys, I still don't have internet at my apartment and got over to my sister's too late to catch the light for a daily fashion show. I hope to be up and running tomorrow, that is, if Comcast decides to show up and help us. Ughhhh, so annoying. Miss you all and I'll be back soon, I promise!
